The Girl in the Rain

It was a hot April day,
When the heavens decided to pour,
As I ran looking for shelter,
A little girl danced in the rain.
As I cursed the global warming,
She searched for a rainbow.
As I tried avoiding the puddles,
She was already making paper boats.
As I tried saving my dress,
She tried catching raindrops on her tongue.
As I shielded myself from the water the car sprayed,
She jumped from puddle to puddle.
I think I will give up being an adult,
And become that little girl,
I may have the experience,
But I want to live like her.
