The drug called paradox

I think life overdosed,
On a drug called paradox.
How else do you explain,
When we look for reason behind magic,
But not in real life.
When we look to align stars,
And leave the hearts in disarray.
When we pay someone to make us laugh,
And pay someone to let us cry.
When we have knowledge of life beyond,
Yet ignorant of those around.
When we fight for freedom to speak
And yet forget to listen.
When we find machines beautiful,
But are critical of the mirror.
If only life would listen,
And stop using paradox!
