A nation salutes

A soldier some said,

Was born of a different mettle,

It required a different courage

To go fearless to battle.

But what about the mother,

Of this brave child,

Who raised her son,

To sacrifice his life.

But what about the father

Of this brave child

Who had enough strength

To bear the weight of his child's coffin

But about the wife

Of this brave man

Who single handedly

Fought life's battles.

Were they not braver

Than those who stand on the border

On this day of glory

I bow my head to these bravehearts

Who stood behind those

That guard our borders.
